About UsStephen Jensen, AIA and principal architect has been working in animal shelter design and veterinary care architecture since 1986 and founded Blue Sky Animal Care Architecture in 2003. Stephen was previously partner in both an architecture/interior design firm as well as a construction management company, which brings a unique perspective and understanding of the construction industry. Blue Sky Animal Care Architecture provides thoughtful assessments of organizational needs, strategic facility planning, innovative design and detail oriented project management. We have advanced the development of contemporary sheltering and veterinary hospitals with continued research of best practice in the animal care industry. The many years of our experience working with humane societies and animal care specialists have provided us with a continual perspective and knowledge of how to incorporate every aspect of animal care and handling into our designs. Blue Sky Animal Care Architecture is commited to a growing expertise in green building technology. We are LEED accredited and knowledgeable in other green building systems such as Green Globes and Energy Star. We find practical ways to reduce first costs for green design measures and to select the best design options for operational savings. In Blue Sky Animal Care Architecture’s constant persuit of advancing the quality of design and function, we are able to confidently offer a variety of services in every phase of planning, conceptualization and building your facility.
